The Bite - with his wet tongue that licked my lips as the feline does...

Bittet (The Bite), Edvard Munch 1914
The Bite
Paula Robles Nettel

He has bitten my soul
with his wet tongue
that licked my lips
as the feline does
marking new territory.
I had dismissed his manhood at first
on the early days of my unfair prejudice
not knowing that years do not exist
in the elapsed time of men like him.
He has bitten my soul
as I watched his eyes closed
while his passionate kiss
caressed carefully
the wounds of my loneliness.
He has bitten my life
this man who stands
so far from my age and my time.
I have already learned
that life is full of imperfect times
but they open new roads
breaking down walls
built of prejudices.
And after his wet tongue
and his hungry lips
the tender touch
of his large hands in mine
his presence has lead me
into another world
where men are still what they were,
despite of the changes of time
made in them,
they still remain men
completely men
only men
only men.
